Changing PS2 Video Mode Blind

To switch a PlayStation 2 to YPbPr (component) video mode when you cannot see the screen because you do not have composite cables, follow these steps exactly:

1. Start up the PlayStation 2 without a game in it.
2. Wait about 20 seconds.
3. Press Down.
4. Press X.
5. Wait 5 seconds.
6. Press Down three times.
7. Press X.
8. Press Left.
9. Press X.

The console should now be set to YPbPr/component output mode.
