RP2040-Zero Microcontroller Board

The RP2040-Zero is a compact and cost-effective microcontroller board built around the same RP2040 chip used in the Raspberry Pi Pico. Designed for tight spaces and embedded applications, it delivers solid performance in a much smaller footprint, making it ideal for custom builds, handheld devices, and space-constrained projects.

At its core is a dual-core ARM Cortex M0+ processor running at up to 133 MHz. This provides fast and responsive performance for real-time control, automation, and general embedded development. With 264 kB of SRAM and typically 2 MB of onboard flash memory, it has plenty of capacity for most firmware requirements.

One of the standout features of the RP2040-Zero is its ultra-compact design, significantly smaller than a standard Pico, while still exposing a wide range of GPIO pins for flexibility. It also includes USB-C for power and data, making it convenient and modern for development and deployment.

The board supports common communication interfaces including I2C, SPI, and UART, allowing easy integration with sensors, displays, and other peripherals. Its wide operating voltage range ensures compatibility across a variety of setups.

Key Features:

  • RP2040 dual-core ARM Cortex M0+ processor
  • Up to 133 MHz clock speed
  • 264 kB SRAM
  • Typically 2 MB onboard flash memory
  • Ultra-compact form factor for tight installations
  • USB-C connection for power and data
  • Supports I2C, SPI, and UART communication
  • Wide operating voltage range (typically 1.8 V to 5.5 V depending on board design)
  • Full GPIO access for flexible project integration

The RP2040-Zero is a great option when you need the power of the RP2040 in a smaller package. It is well suited to embedded systems, DIY electronics, and projects where space and simplicity matter without sacrificing capability.
